As a volunteer you can help reducing the vulnerability of children and adolescents in the border region through access to cultural goods and technological knowledge with daily classes of music, dance, technology, school support, languages, environmental and heritage education, in the school hours.

The exchange volunteer may develop the many activities in different areas such as:

  • Music: Help in piano, strings, brass classes, also in musicalization, body and popular percussion, choral singing, construction of alternative instruments with recycled materials.
  • Dance: Support at classical ballet, contemporary dance, body expression, dance therapy, children’s games and play, circus art and also cutting and sewing.
  • Technology : Work in the audiovisual sector by giving workshops, editing island, recording studio for audio and video capture and also work by supporting  social media, including content generation.
  • Occupational area: Work with ground physiotherapy, stretching, meditation, yoga, also develop monitoring activities for children assisting in the treatment and recreational / pedagogical activities.

Working days per week: 5

Age Range: 18 – 40

Language at the project: Portuguese, Spanish and English

Language details: Desirable basic Portuguese or Spanish Language knowledge

Soft skills and other requirements: It is desirable that the exchange student has specific skills in the area in which he / she wishes to work in the Cultural Mill, in addition to a permanent interest in developing the activities under his / her responsibility, respecting the rules of the South American Cultural Mill, respectful and sociable attitude towards all our collaborators, initiative and capacity for observation and achievement.

Housing type: Accommodation or host family. The accommodation will be made in the institution’s own collective accommodation, located in its headquarters. We have separate rooms and bathrooms for men and women. It is equipped with furniture, a stove, a fridge, a microwave oven, a washing machine and internet access. Other collaborators of the Moinho Cultural, of different nationalities, are also on site. The exchange student must bring with him / her bed linen and personal bath towels. Breakfast and lunch will be served during the working hours of the Moinho Cultural. We can not offer dinner, however volunteer can prepare your dinner in the accommodation if you prefer.

Meals included: 2 per day

Housing/meals details: Institution will provide breakfast, lunch and volunteer will have all facilities to make dinner.
